ICT Project for Social Change

Creating a Concept Paper

Ever heard of a concept paper? It's defined as a brief document. And depending on the requirements of a specific project, the Concept Paper may range from as few as 2-3 pages to as many as 10-20 pages. The main point of the Concept Paper is to explain the importance of a research project in a summarized and understandable way. Before starting your project, your group should be able to do some paper works that'd support and explain how your project works. This would help experts to see if your project has potential to be made into reality. Let's talk about the 5 elements in regards to making a concept paper.

Five elements of a concept paper:

1. Introduction - this includes your group's mission and vision and a brief introduction to your project.

2. Purpose - this includes the reason why your project should be worth the time, effort, and if it's worth the sponsor's money investment.

3. Description - this includes all the necessary details in regards to your project. In an ICT setting, you involve sites that you're going to produce and the purpose of each and how they work in unison.

4. Support - this contains the money needed for the project, it is a voluntary effort and there are concept papers that do not ask for specific amounts to be requested from sponsors.

5. Contact Information - this includes information about how the group can be contacted for feedback and communication purposes.
